Siona grew up in a small Jewish community in predominantly Hindu and Muslim India, and now lives in the US. Her paintings are inspired by the imageries of her past from multicultural India, and of her present from an increasingly diverse America.
Throughout her art Siona uses a consistent shade of blue. To Siona, the blue represents being different, and personally, a jewish woman of color. What a fun afternoon at the re-opening of Zura Yoga in Montclair, NJ! Much of Siona's imagery was custom-made to accent the space with soothing mandalas, graceful goddesses and inspiring "fire" birds. Thank you so much and best of luck to our Zura friends.
